Pet Friendly Arizona!

We would like to introduce you to a new feature of "How Sam Sees It" called "Pet Friendly Arizona!". As you know, Aaron and I are always looking for places to go with Sam and thought we would share our successes (and maybe our failures - we have been kicked out of a place or two!) with you. That way, if you are ever visiting Arizona, you will know where you can go and what to do with your fur-pal!

Our first stop on our tour is at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. The Arboretum is located 3 miles south of the town of Superior on U.S. 60. This is one of our favorite places to go, as well as one of the prettiest. While Boyce Thompson has always been dog friendly, we noticed they have stepped up the welcome even more! As you reach the main intersection of trails, there are dog bags (all they ask is that you clean up after your dogs!) as well as water dishes next to every fountain!

Sam has always enjoyed his visits to the Arboretum!

After all the rains we've gotten this year in Arizona, the flowers here were putting on quite a show!

There are also lots of world exhibits to look at. Here is Sam sitting outside the station in the Australian exhibit.

Here he is in the Herb Garden.

There are also many trails to wander through.

Aaron took this wonderful picture of a bee.

We highly recommend Boyce Thompson Arboretum as a great place to spend the day!

  2. Ditto for Lady and I. We will drop an email or comment whenever we find dog friendly places in our Arizona travels. Here is one:

Eureka Grill, 15332 W. Bell Rd. Suite 101, Surprise, AZ ~ Nice dog friendly dining patio. Good food, cold beer, decent wine list.

Lady gives it 4 paws up.

  8. Wow, thanks for the tip on BTA. We didn't know they were dog friendly! Biltmore Fashion Square has been very dog friendly - although I hear the "3 Dog Bakery" is now gone. But the grassy area is very open and inviting, as are most of the outdoor restaurants. If you ever have a therapy dog in training that needs to learn to ride an elevator, go there... I used it as a great practice area for my dog Ben, an assistance activity dog.

  9. We have an arboretum here that allows dogs on certain of the trails. We really need to take a trip there. The flowers were so pretty at yours. Mom is very anxious to see flowers around here too. Thanks for sharing your fun visit.

  18. oh my, sunshine, flowers, and Sam and Sam's Mum, what a wonderfuly bright post!

We are kinda tired of our horrid weather, so it is lovely to look and see sunshine!

This winter here in Scotland has been the hardest they say for 30 years, and my Jeannie says she is sick of the snow. This is why we loved your sunny and flowery post today. Sam is so attractive too.
