October Chewy.com Review

It's time for our October chewy.com review.  This month we decided to try PureVita Freeze Dried Sweet Potato Treats.

Last months freeze dried liver treats were a hit and I wanted to see if I could smuggle in some healthy vegetables...  They clearly saw right through my plan.
You got me vegetables?
To my surprise these treats were a clear winner with Monty.
Oh yum yum yum!
Harlow happily took a few pieces but wandered off with them - which means I'll find them in my shoes later on.
3 seconds before she realized I'm trying to poison her...
We decided to go for a full consensus of all house hold dogs, including guests, and gave Rosie a piece.
Um, no.  It's not a french fry....
...and yes, my Mom has this dog spoiled something fierce.  Here was our final tally:

Monty:  Two Paws up
Harlow:  One Paw up - she did eat a couple of pieces.
Rosie:  Two paws down

Monty will definitely benefit from this bag.  The only ingredient that went into the making of these was sweet potato.  They are a little harder than I'm used to for freeze dried treats, but Monty had no issues crunching on them.

Here's a little additional information on the company that makes these.

NutriSource has been a trusted family-owned pet food manufacturer for over 40 years. Their products include all natural ingredients assuring nothing but the best ingredients for your furry family member.
NutriSource carries a few different lines of yummy treats. Their first formula is the Soft and Tender treats which are USA made and made with only natural ingredients and containing no wheat, no soy and no artificial colors. They are also made with a trusted source of L-Carnitine which is an amino acid.  It helps your pet naturally burn fat and promotes loss of body weight and healthy weight maintenance. The next option is a Grain-Free Biscuit which comes in three yummy flavors such as Chicken, Liver, and Whitefish.

And if those options didn’t get tails wagging then maybe the PureVita Freeze dried treats which are always a hit, will. They are available in three great flavors. Which are Liver and Sweet Potato, Sweet Potato, and Giblets and Sweet Potato. YUM!

  4. The subtlest of lip curls from Harlow! Hopefully Monty will fish any rejected morsels outta your shoes before you notice them.

  5. I'll definitely include them in our next order. Lucy loves carrots and apples and pumpkin so I'm certain she will love sweet potatoes. Wow...a veggie Harlow will eat.

  6. Harlow is just like Shyla... sneaking away with fruits and veggies to hide them someplace. But, Shyla is making strides. She actually ate a piece of banana last week... so maybe there's hope for Harlow if you keep on giving her fruit!

  9. Generally freeze-dried treats are a winner, but I'm not sure my dogs would go for sweet potato either!

  11. We reviewed these treats a while back. I think it was the chicken and sweet potato variety. Brown dawgs loved them. But then again, they don't turn down food...lol. Rosie sure looks skeptical. :)

  12. We ordered some for Lucy with our last Chewy order. She loves carrots and pumpkin so we were sure she would love these as well. She has never had freeze-dried treats and really didn't know what to do with the piece we gave her. She picked it up and then put it down several times before finally chewing it. Now that she is used to the texture she loves them.
