The chewy.com box has arrived! |
This month we decided to try
Castor & Pollux's Good Buddy Cheddar Cheese Flavor treats.
Why did we chose these treats?
|
Cuz I is a good buddy... |
|
I iz good buddy too! |
These treats are made with whole wheat flour, rolled oats, canola oil, dried cheddar, dried whey product, dried eggs, dried kelp and rosemary extract. That's it.
They are larger than what we usually gives our pups as treats - roughly 1 3/4 inch. Keep this in mind if you have smaller pups.
They are also extremely hard and crunchy (in case you have pups with dental issues or trouble chewing). Harlow and Monty couldn't do their usual crunch-and-swallow routine, these actually required some chewing.
I can see these lasting us for some time, mainly due to their size and hardness. They aren't a the kind of treat you can give as a reward. The pups love them though!
Our ratings:
Taste: Our pups loved them! Both Monty and Harlow are finicky. If it seems healthy they won't touch it.
Smell: They smelled good enough for us to eat.
Size: A little too big for us - I could see giving them a few too many during the day.
Consistency: Very hard, which isn't a problem with our pups.
Would we try these again? I'm not sure, but that is due to our preference not the product. Our pups are very treat oriented and I like tiny treats so that I can give them a couple in a row for good behavior.
