Our weekend

We've had a pretty quiet weekend, which is sometimes the best kind of weekend to have!  Mom The boys keep hoping we'll  rent a RV and take them cross country and have an adventure, but since that hasn't yet happened yet they've resigned themselves to putting up with all the other things we put them through.

Including baths...

Dog Days of Summer

It is hot outside. Really hot... We've been limited in what we can do with the boys, and what we ourselves can do. What does this mean overall? Well, for one thing, the blog hasn't been very exciting lately!

The most movement seen at our house this weekend was giving the boys a bath. As you can imagine, Sam wasn't happy with this! Worse yet, I've tried a new dog shampoo and it's made him a little fluffy...

You've ruined my doo!


You may be wondering what else we might have done this weekend. Well, Monty didn't mind showing you...

Lazy Weekend

Well, we are having a lazy weekend here. Not a bad thing, mind you, but not much has gotten done.

Sam has been catching up on his sleep.

The boys do occasionally let me photograph them.


...and I've been working on a project or two...

Our Weekend

I have been travelling the last two weeks for work. The first week I did a mini tour of Southern Arizona National Parks, including Coronado National Memorial, Tumacacori National Historic Park, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and Saguaro National Park (both sides!). Last week I went for training down in Tucson. Needless to say, I was very tired and all the boys were happy to see me. Since both trips were for work, I did not have a chance to bring my camera. This weekend was very quiet for us. Today was the last day for a houseguest we have had for four weeks. Sam and Monty's cousin, Heidi! This is a picture of her right after I gave her a both.


The boys have had a good weekend. I spent part of my time in the craft room painting. Sam has taken to love the craft room. What do you think, Sam?


Monty had a wonderful weekend too. He's always happy as long as he has a little sun to play in!


Both boys think they managed to escape having baths this weekend. What they don't know is that they are getting them right after dinner!

Monday Update

Sam here. Sam giving weekend update on Sam and Monty. Sam hope you have had a wonderful weekend.


First off, Mom spent part of her weekend trying to teach Monty to wear a hat. As you know, Sam is a pro. Sam is good at wearing a hat. Sam look cute in a hat. Monty not so good. Mom finally got him to wear a bandanna. Monty needs some work.


Due to Mom and Dad's various aches and pains this weekend, Sam and Monty had to entertain themselves. Sam, being quite literary as you know, spent his time catching up on his reading. Currently, Sam reading Sherlock Homes.

Hmmm... Sherlock and Sam have much in common...


Monty? Monty entertained himself other ways...

The Weekend is Here!

The weekend is finally here! Sam's Momma can sure use a rest. The boys are happy to have everyone home.

What do the boys have planned? First of all, they want to continue working on their synchronized napping. This is a very advanced maneuver!


Of course, they plan to spend lots of time with family. Sam sure is lucky to have Monty as a little brother!

Busy Weekend

We've had quite the busy weekend here trying to wear Mr. Monty out! We bought both the boys rawhide chewies, hoping to immobolize Monty in one spot for at least 15 minutes. Was it successful!

After spending a good hour chewing on them, the boys decided to work on their teamwork. Because of the dismal failure of Sam's bid for Olympic Dog Bathing gold medal, Sam and Monty have decided to team up and try for Synchronized Dog Napping. Here they are trying the rather difficult "Tandem Floor Position". Keep the ears up, Sam! Monty, paws together!


Here they are working on the advanced position, the "Floor Head Lift". If they can nail this, then they are sure to win any competition!


Now, we must tell you... our weekend took a rather frightening turn. Don't look at these pictures if you are weak of heart! Our house was invaded by...

Oh, wait, wait... Our mistake! It was Monty all along!


Of course, good boys deserve lots of adoration. We have no worries about Sam's behavior, but Monty's is always a little bit questionable. Remind us one time to tell you about his little endeavour to find out what our leather couch cusions are stuffed with... However, this weekend, Monty was excellent!
