Rosie is Riveting...

Sam here.  Sam take over his blog.  Again.  Is his blog, after all...

Hi dere!

Sam has important news.  It's true!  Sam's Oma went to place called the "Pound" and brought home a new cousin.  Sam not know what this pound is but from what Sam's Mom says, Oma is a hero.  Monty, who has been to this pound, says is true!

Sam wants all his friends to meet Rosie!
Rosie is Riveting!
Sam's Mom here...  Rosie is a 6 year old Chihuahua mix.  She is absolutely adorable, loves attention and has the sweetest personality.  More importantly, she took to my Mom almost instantly which is what we were hoping for.
As you can see, she isn't very big, but she has a whole lot of heart!

What is Sam doing?

Sam has been awfully busy lately.  What are you doing, Sam?
I got a new book, Mom.  It's really good!
Which book is it?
Maxdog, Mom!
We finally got our own copy of Maxdog!  It looks like I will need to wait until Sam is finished before I can read it.

How Sam Spends His Day

We recently installed a camera to watch the boys during the day.  We've yet to see Monty in the camera - we have no idea what he is up to during the day.  We always suspected Sam stayed by the door all day waiting for us to return.  Now we have proof - here is how Sam spends his day...

(Please ignore the pile of books on the pool table - this is our donation pile!)

Early morning - we had a lot of fun identifying the shadows on the black poster board to the right....

Not much difference...

Checking the view out the window...

I took these screenshots one hour apart, I was glad to see he had moved a little bit!

Back to the window....

Several hours into the day...

We do worry that he isn't getting up to drink water.

Lunchtime...

OMD - he moved!

Almost time for us to come home.
How do your pups spend the day when you are gone?

Hi dere. Sam here. Sam taking over his blog. Again. His blog, after all.

If I don't post, who will?

Sam decide since Mom feeling out of sorts from head test, Sam help in house. Sam good boy after all. Sam not mention that he still help out, even after he got bath yesterday!

Sam not even dirty! He swear!

Sam decide to vacuum, although Sam think little brother Monty should vacuum. It's his hair rolling down hallway!

I have a Dyson, and I know how to use it!

Sam had hard time with laundry. No luck folding, Sam all paws.

Hope Dad doesn't mind wrinkles in his shorts!

This too much work for one pup!

When will it ever end?

We are thinking of all our friends on the East Coast! We are hoping Irene passed you all by!

Weekend Update

Sam here, Sam giving you update on weekend. Mom and Dad are close to being fired, again.

First of all, Mom and Dad busy most of weekend. Something about cleaning Grandma's yard. Sam could have helped, but no, Sam not invited. Sam had to beg to be fed! Here is proof.

Sam did occasionally get some food.

Mom did find time to make Sam and Monty new collars. Here is picture of Sam's. You will have to wait to see Monty's. He is in jail. Something about trying to join a motorcycle gang or start riot. Sam not quite sure.

Here is also picture of Monty, just so you remember him.

Mom also spent time with her Friesian stallion, Baron. Mom say he our big brother. Sam not sure about this, not see resemblance. That is trainer, Jeremy Cluff, in the pictures.

We hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day and remembered to thank our soldiers and veterans.

April Flowers

Well, I think summer has reached us here in Arizona even though officially it is spring. The weather people have threatened us with 100 degree days this weekend, although the latest check has us firmly in the mid 90's. We don't think we will see many flowers this year - we had to cut back many of our plants due to the severe frost we had this winter, but a few of them are managing to show some flowers.

This trumpet vine is bursting with flowers. This actually belongs to our neighbor but has grown over our wall. We love it and don't mind at all!

Our white Lady Bank's Rose has also survived. Mom loves this vine, but does not recommend them for small yards. If we aren't vigilant with keeping it cut back, it quickly overtakes our yard and all the other plantings in it. He is kind of hard to see, but Sam is sitting in front of it. Monty is looking for sunbeams!

We don't think we will see too many other flowers. Our beautiful Orange Jubilee bushes have taken a tremendous hit from the frost, as well as our Bird of Paradise, lantana and ruellia. We've had to cut most of these down to ground level!

Last year we tried growing flowers in pots, but those didn't last once Monty came. We are not sure we will try those again! April is actually a very important month for us at "How Sam Sees It". First of all, next week will be our 2nd Blogiversary! Also, April 22nd will be Monty's Gotcha Day! Can you believe our beautiful boy has been with us for a year already?

Meet Sam's Cousin Cody

Sam here! Sam taking over his blog to do update. Mom busy visiting her Mom in hospital, so Sam has to take matters in his own paws. Sam decided to introduce you to other cousin. Not the "alleged" cat cousin, Frisky, but his other cousin, Cody. Cody lives in Iowa, where it is cold enough to freeze Sam's butt off. Sam definitely not visiting till summer!

First off, here is Cody with Mom's sister, Becky.

Sam find it very odd that Dad's sister is also named Becky and she is the Mom of the cat Frisky. Sam very puzzled by all this. Sam thinks there is a conspiracy going on.

Anyway, Sam is glad to see Cody also likes to play with toys.

Sam is offering Cody a visit in nice warm Arizona. Here he is begging to come in before he freezes his butt off. Look at this! He has been sent outside without the proper gear!

Sam also update on Grandma. Grandma still in hospital and still sick. Mom and Dad says she will be spending Christmas in either hospital or rehab. Mom very sad about this. However, she is slowly on the mend but it will take time. Sam wants her to get better quickly, 'cause Grandma always sneaks the Sam an extra cookie. Don't tell Mom, though!

Saturday Sam

Sam here. Sam at wits end. Sam firing entire staff. Now hiring.

Why Sam firing staff? Not updating blog, not taking pictures, giving Sam bath... the list goes on. Sam has to do his own work! So, Sam go through pictures and pick a couple to show you.

First off, here are Sam and Monty. Just letting you know.

Here is photos of us enjoying Frosty Paws. We love Frosty Paws. This is Sam.

...and this is Monty!

Sam also has important service announcement for those of you in Missouri. Gabby the service dog is missing. Here is her information if you spot her!

Lastly, we have been helping Mom and Dad feed the horses. Monty is learning to be farm dog. Sam already farm dog. Mom says we get more pictures, but here is Monty inspecting hay.

Sam signing off. Sam have lots of work to do!

Never Forget!

Saturday is Bath Day

Today is bath day at our house. While Monty was overjoyed by this news, Sam was a little less enthusiastic. In fact, I haven't seen Sam for a while. I wonder where he is?

I'd better start searching. One thing I noticed is that our house is full of strange dogs. Maybe they've seen Sam?

Look at this strange fellow... I wonder if he is in the Witness Protection Program?

Sam? I don't know who you are talking about!

I thought about asking this guy, but he is tough looking! I had better move along...

Wow! This guy looks really smart! Maybe he knows where Sam is...

"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing."

Ummm... okay... I believe Albert Einstein said that first!

This guy looks like a farmer. Isn't that strange? We don't have any farms around here.

Nope, haven't seen 'im. Been feeding my chickens all mornin'.

Oh, hey! You are far from home, have you seen Sam? He is about about 3 feet tall and has red hair.

No, Senorita...

Well, this guy is the last guy I can ask.

Sam? Haven't seen him!

Wait a minute! Did that mustache look fake to you?

Friday Update

Sam here. Sam reporting on the situation at the home front. This is Sam's blog after all!

Sam's Mom had a minor medical procedure that kept her flat for a week! She couldn't update Sam's blog. Sam won't fire her for now. Sam's Dad had a change in work schedule. Sam won't fire him either.

Mom says she has to make up for not doing anything last week. Mom says she has a long list of things to do. Sam decided he will help, although he did notice "Wash Dogs" is on the list. Not help with that!

Sam's ready to lend a paw!

Sam would also like to point out, that "How Sam Sees It" passed a major milestone! We now have over 100 followers! Thank you, everyone!

Weather Report

Sam here. Sam has special report on the weather. Sam not as good as some of his weather friends, but Sam giving it best shot.

First off, it has been raining like crazy since Thursday. Mom got sent home early on Thursday, they were afraid she couldn't come home once the flooding started. Sam not complaining.

First off, this is greenbelt where Mom walks Sam. See the poles? That is where Mom and Sam walk. Sam needs boat now.

Mom still need to feed horses, even in this weather. She took some pictures of the Superstition Mountains - see how low the clouds are?

Mom even saw a waterfall running down the front of the mountain!

The roads have been flooding, but not bad enough that Mom can't get to Grandma's to feed the horses.

Sam has been rather disappointed that Mom does not take Sam with her. Sam rather disgruntled.

Mom: Ummmm, Sam?

Mom: Sam? You've got something in your teeth....

Mom: Right there...

Sam's Mom here... While I am wrestling the yogurt cup away from Sam, I thought I would share this picture Sam's Grandpaw John drew of Cisco.

We miss her greatly.
