Our annual Arizona monsoons are here. Almost every evening this week we've seen rain and thunderstorms, and our days are very muggy! The mugginess brings out all manners of creatures, including this dragonfly. They really enjoy this weather!
I've had the opportunity this week to work at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. If you are ever passing through Phoenix, this is a great place to detour to!
This morning I'm back to my normal work place. I took this picture on the way to work:
Mornings here are truly GOLDEN, are they not?
Speaking of golden, here are a couple of pictures of Sam and Monty. They are still practicing hard to perfect their "Synchronzied Napping" routine. Here they are performing the "Waking Up" portion.
Sam is on the left, Monty is on the right. Look at how perfect they are matched!
I'm not sure how this picture will come out for you - to me it is sideways, but I have it saved right way up...

Friday Update
Sam here. Sam reporting on the situation at the home front. This is Sam's blog after all!
Sam's Mom had a minor medical procedure that kept her flat for a week! She couldn't update Sam's blog. Sam won't fire her for now. Sam's Dad had a change in work schedule. Sam won't fire him either.
Mom says she has to make up for not doing anything last week. Mom says she has a long list of things to do. Sam decided he will help, although he did notice "Wash Dogs" is on the list. Not help with that!
Sam's ready to lend a paw!
Sam would also like to point out, that "How Sam Sees It" passed a major milestone! We now have over 100 followers! Thank you, everyone!

Dog Days of Summer
Hmmm... What's this?
Somebody has been playing William Tell...
...and it looks like we had a siege by the watering hole...
Uh-oh. Red Lion was caught in the crossfire!
...and of course, Sam!
Mom! He's doing it again!
MONTY!
What? I missed, didn't I?
The Dog Days of Summer have hit our household, that's for sure!

Independence Day
It is a busy day in the blogosphere today! Our new pal, Frankie, is sponsoring a Name Game, and our other new friend, Sallie, is hosting a Hawaii Party! Wooo, the boys are going to be busy today!
Lets start with Frankie's Name Game!
We will save Monty for another day, and let you know how Sam got his name!
Hello!
There isn't much of a story with Sam. I've always tried to keep my dogs names simple and short. I thought long and hard about Sam's name, and for the first month after getting him as a puppy he remained nameless. I kept a list with me with all sorts of names on them. Whenever I had a minute I would pull out the list and study the names. I wanted it to be short, simple but be a great name for a dog I knew would be a great dog one day! He was too reserved for a silly name, too friendly for an authoritative name, and too cute for a serious name! Sam kept popping up on my list, and Sam the pup seemed to like the name. Sam was named!
On to the Hawaii Party!
This post seems to be mainly about Sam, and it really is! Monty would not cooperate with the wearing of leis and funny shirts! Sam, on the other hand, is always ready for a party!
I sure hope Maya thinks I'm cute in this shirt!
We wish you all a wonderful Independence Day!
