We've had a couple of busy weeks again - I'm traveling for work more often and getting opportunities to visit some of my favorite National Parks!
I had the honor of being able to attend a couple of significant events at the parks I work for. First off, a ribbon cutting ceremony at
Tumacacori National Historical Park to celebrate the completion of their new ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) trail. This trail will allow all visitors to now visit the church, the lime kiln and the historic orchard with ease.
|
All together now.... Snip! |
Pictures will never do this beautiful park justice. If you are ever traveling through southeastern Arizona, make sure to leave time to stop by. You will truly be amazed!

View from inside the church |
Our next event was at
Casa Grande Ruins National Monument to attend the opening of their new
rammed-earth constructed theater and the unveiling of the documentary video of the early people of Casa Grande. They did an awesome job with both!
Our boys are waiting for our next big adventure. How are we going to top "Bark in the Park"? We still haven't figured it out yet - temperature here in AZ are soaring over 110 and our outdoor activities are limited.

Sam's thinking these paws will never be used again! |
|
Monty and Sam waiting for us to do something, anything... |
Monty did de-floof his bed, which is evident by the acres of green cotton that never seem to end. I'm not kidding, I've picked up three garbage bags of this stuff and every time I turn around there is more!
|
I've been framed! Probably by Sam... |
Nice job on that defluffing! Three bags is most impressive! Very nice parks too, but best to stay on top of the AC vent until it goes back down into the 90s!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Monty! You are a pooch after Sophie's heart. Together, the two of you could conquer the stuffings of the world --- and never get caught.
ReplyDeleteP.S., there is another Bark in the Park in August... just saying.
ReplyDeleteYou all have the best adventures!! What a beautiful place to visit and explore!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, you have been busy. I love reading about your trips. I think Bark in the Park sounds very great.
ReplyDeleteIs it time for a new bed?

Your Momma is so lucky to get to travel to all these national parks. Well, at least you found something to do indoors! Ha!Ha!
ReplyDeleteBark in the Park sounds great but so does de-stuffing. Hope you figure out the next adventure soon. But staying inside in 110 heat might be nice.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
110 degrees already? YIKES!
ReplyDeleteHappy Bandana Day! You look very handsome in yours!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Hiya and welcome , things we want from you apart from your great blog is horses , we love em and popped by displaced cowgirl to find nothing there. Pity! Take care and have a happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Monty, how could you? Perhaps you are bored because of the heat. Or maybe you were just curious to find out just how much stuffing is inside. (The answer is 3 garbage bags full.) I suppose you expect Sam to give you the other bed.
ReplyDeleteWow, your job sounds very interesting. Too bad the boys can't join you on more of your trips:)
ReplyDeleteMonty and Sam wear their bandanas very well:) And on the perfect day too.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Sure you have been busy!
ReplyDeleteAnd the boys too!
Hmmm...

I know... but I don't believe it!
Take care

My parents-in-law are in Tucson and are loving the HOT weather they are having right now. Make sure to ice your little toes okay? Glad you are keeping busy with these great events.
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me too much of Dusty with the un stuffing of beds. Wherever you look, there is always a sneeky piece of white fluff hiding!
ReplyDelete110 degrees?! I think if I was not swimming, I would be inside!
ReplyDeleteXOXOXO

But 'they' say it is a dry heat -
ReplyDeleteMaybe woo khould khome to Khamp Khyra to exercise those paws!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
PeeEssWoo: Thanks fur sharing the park pikhs - furry interesting!
The heat we have been having is no fun for us pups...but it sure looks like you have been to some very cool events! Nice to see more ADA trails being put in.
ReplyDeleteMonty, you de-floof your bed? Where are you going to sleep now?
ReplyDeleteStay cool guys!
June
Never never de-floof your own bed. But a cold hard floor is much better than being outside in the heat. Keep cool!
