A lot of you know I suffer from terrible headaches, something I've shared openly, especially on Facebook. My hope is that someone will be able to suggest something that will finally give me some relief. January is the anniversary of when my headache began. I say headache, because once it started it never went away and I've had it for several years now. Most days it is bearable, and some days, like the past week, the pain is excruciating. I've seen many doctors and have had many tests without finding out why my head hurts.
I am behind on updating "How Sam Sees It" and reading blogs. I'm slowly catching up - please don't give up on me!
Anyway, enough whining...!
Aaron and I decided to take a break from the valley and visit my sister in Payson for the day. We packed up the boys and headed north. ...and I forgot my camera! These pictures were taken on my phone.
Sam, Monty and I stopped for a picture. |
It's evil, Mom. |
He's my brother, and a little goofy, and I love him.... |
This is the first time I've heard about your headaches. I'm sorry the doctors haven't been ale to find out why. Sounds like it was sudden onset? I'm sure you're on all sorts of meds but have you tried a good head massage and acupressure? Just for relief.
ReplyDeleteGlad you managed to get away for a day. Georgia's never seen snow either! Take care. X
Woof! Woof! So sorry to hear that your head hurts again. We saw an episode of Dr. oz and he had a segment all related to different kinds of headache. You may want to check his site. How can you forget your camera but nowadays phone photos are good. Have a good Saturday with Sam n Monty. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry the headache has been acting up again! It's probably a silly question, but have you tried chiropractic or acupuncture for relief?
ReplyDeleteI love Monty, he is such a unique soul!
I need to make a suggestion. I have horrible migraines. Or should say "had". Since the doctors have checked you out, I would ask them if you could have a Botox treatment (like they give for migraines).
ReplyDeleteNothing worked for me until Botox. I haven't had a migraine since I started 9 months ago. It hurts, but it's so worth it. You get shots all over your head, neck, shoulder and face.
Also, some medicines can actually cause rebound headaches. I would try weaning off the meds. Seriously - botox works. Ask about it. It can't hurt.
I had no idea about your headaches. That is awful. I am glad you took a day away with the boys. I remember the first time I saw and was in snow. It was so strange. But now I love it. We will says a prayer for your relief and hope something can be done.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
So sorry about your headaches, I didn't realise how you suffered from them. Hope there will be some relief for you, keep on to the Drs. Surely there is an answer. Meanwhile, lovely to see the pics of your trip, the boys look so happy.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your headaches. I suffer from migraines, so I know how debilitating and depressing it can be. I can't imagine having one for a whole year. Seems as if they often cause a puzzle for doctors. I know mine are mostly hormonal.
ReplyDeleteThe botox idea sounds interesting.....
Monty is a good sport for putting up with the white stuff.
Headaches are so awful. Hope you get some answers and relief soon!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, PIp
Sorry to read about the headaches. Might acupuncture help?
ReplyDeleteSorry your head has been hurting so much again lately. Bummer. Have been keeping up with it on Facebook. My sister has migraines and is trying out osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT) for migraines, neck pain, and TMJ and says it has really been helping.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all got to get out with the boys and have some fun! Funny about Monty jumping straight up in the air!
Have a great weekend!
Elyse and Riley
You have probably already been tested, but just in case, I had headaches for years & it turned out that I am allergic to cats & dogs! If you have not been tested for allergies, make sure you do that.I am now on several medications & those headaches have stopped, but I do still get the occasional migraine. When the migraine comes on, my world comes to a stop.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I mentioned it or not to you, but I had the same problem with headaches when we lived in Alaska. I've no idea what the cause was, but I also did all the tests that never found anything. We didn't own dogs when we lived there, but I decided after I left there, that it must've been allergy related because when I got to VA, I've not had much of a problem with them. I really hope you're able to find the answers to their cause and the perfect remedy.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, don't worry about blog visits--We all understand, I know that I do--It's always good to see a post from you and read about your family adventures when you have the time to post! :-)
Ouch! I didn't no you had such a terrible headache. I'm assuming you've had everything like MRIs and the like? Could it be allergies?
ReplyDeleteNola
So sorry to hear your headache has been worse. Headaches are just horrible.
ReplyDeleteHeidi-Daisy's Mom
Daisy says Monty needs to try snow again, it's really good stuff.
I am so sorry to hear about the headaches. I sure wish I had an answer for you too. I might hae a suggestion but I'll email it to you.
ReplyDeleteBert
Glad you came up to visit. Hope you get some more decompression visit up here soon
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about your headaches. Are they migraines? Is your blood pressure high? I have migraines, but since I started taking medicine for my blood pressure, I have only had two which is truly amazing considering how many I used to have. I hope you can find a cure soon. I have heard that acupressure can really help.
ReplyDeleteOh, headaches are never fun, so I'm definitely sorry that you have been suffering from them for sooooo long! Boo!!! I hope that the pain starts to subside soon enough! :-) Hm, I bet Monty will love the snow soon enough, he probably just needs a couple of visits! Hehe! Great photos of the boys though! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe woo need to khome to PAWSylvania!
ReplyDeleteSorry 'bout the headakhhies - I know they khan be really bad fur humans -

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your headaches. We hope someone can come up with some suggestion that works for you. Thank you for our Christmas card it arrived last week. Have a super Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
How awful for your poor mum, guys. It sounds like she's gotten lots of advise here. We sure hope something works for her!
ReplyDeleteWe think snow is the most wonderful stuff!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
I'm sorry that you are having such problems with your headaches. I know it's not easy. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteTaking a break is always a good thing - glad you all got a little get away!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that was a surprise to step on something a bit icy/slushy and very cold. If any got stuck in between the toesies burrrr.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you enjoyed every moment of your exploration. It's always fun discovering new places.
Emma
Sorry to hear about your headaches, hope you manage to find something that helps.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a lovely day though
Sorry about those headaches. My sister says she has had some luck with massaging her temples with tea tree oil to get some relief from hers. If you try this, I recommend buying a higher quality bottle of it. I bought some cheap stuff somewhere and it STINKS.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the story on FB about Monty and the collapsible car carrier / hamster wheel. I put Thumper in one of those once. He stood up and walked across the living room in it. It had worked very effectively with Lightning, so I was completely surprised by the walking bubble. Lol. It's heartwarming to hear how the dogs bond and make their own "pack". :)
hello sam and monty its dennis the vizsla dog hay wow snow!!! i hav herd of it but hav never seen it!!! tucker sez it is awful and trixie sez it is wunderful i do not no hoo to beleev!!! sorry abowt yore mamas headache i hope sumwun kan help her with it ok bye
ReplyDeleteThat long headache sounds horrible! Sure hope you can find some relief soon.
ReplyDeleteThe boys are so handsome. :)
Howdy Sam and Monty's mum, so sorry about your rotten headaches. We don't have any suggestions sorry. Our sissy gets migraines but is helped by medication and rest.
ReplyDeleteWe loved your photos of the snow. We have never seen it either but it looks like so much fun. Take care. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
We're so sorry to hear about your headaches! That has to be miserable!
ReplyDeleteIf Monty isn't sure what to do with the snow, he can send it to us! Ha roo roo roo!
Play bows,
Zim
We are so sorry to hear about your headache. We can't imagine it. We hope you are able to find a cure for it soon. Lee and Phod and their Lady
ReplyDeleteMy girls would LOVE to be able to walk in the snow.
ReplyDeleteHoping a remedy comes your way soon.
I am very sorry about these terrible headaches :( I hope this one will be over soon!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have never met snow yet, but I agree with Monty already :)
Headaches are awful, my only suggestion is the Naturopath, I've gotten so many great herbal remedies.
ReplyDeleteYou also have some great suggestions here, I do hope you get relief.
Funny about the dogs and the snow isn't it? Especially when you rescue a dog, you have no idea what their experience has been.
I've read your Facebook posts about your headaches but didn't realize they were chronic and that no one seems to have a cure for you and that is just awful! The fact that you can keep blogging through it all is a testament to your strength and unwillingness to let it get the best of you. We hope blogging helps you cope and hope you find a cure soon!
ReplyDeleteOur daughter had some success with biofeedback. Also known as neurofeedback. It's worked when medication and doctors couldn't help her.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better!
I am so sorry to hear that you are a chronic headache sufferer :-( I have had them since I was 14- going on 21 years now. I know what you mean when you say, "it never left", mine is the same way- some days it is worse than others- no one else seems to quite get it, except my migraine doctor. If you lived by me, I would recommend the Diamond Headache Clinic in downtown Chicago- I have been seeing Merle Diamond there since I was 15, and she has been a huge help with my migraines- her dad founded the clinic.
