The Imprisoned Puppy

Just ask Harlow.  We are the meanest puppy owners on the face of the planet.  Not only did we get her fixed when she wasn't broken, but now we expect her to rest.  For 14 days.  That's like 98 days in dog years.  Harlow's handling like any teenager who has been grounded.

She's sighing....
 She's pouting....
She's giving us her best "Please-let-me-do-something-fun" face...
...and since we won't, she doubles her efforts to look dejected...
 ...and unloved...

...and tries to find ways to bend the rules...
We are on day 5 - 9 more to go.  Sigh...

  8. Oh Harlow, life is so unkind. We understand. Here's to hoping you get better real soon. Say hello to Sam and Monty for us, ok?

  9. Dear Harlow, I feel your pain. I have had to rest for 5 weeks so far . . . . I have another 3-5. IT really sucks.

  10. Harlow, it could be worse, you could be stuck in the crate. Just turn on those sad eyes and beg for extra treats. As hard as it may be to believe, Mom and Dad really did do a good thing in getting you fixed even if you weren't broken:)

  12. Harlow, it truly is an injustice, and your estimate in dog time couldn't be more accurate :) We are hoping your 14 days go quickly!

  17. I love your blog and read regularly. We've had goldens most of our adult life, but recently lost our wonderful girl, Rose. I can't bring myself to look at another beautiful goldie face, imploring me to help....so we've gotten a black standard poodle for a big change. He's really a cool dog, but those blond faces really tug at my heartstrings. Thanks for sharing your three and I wish you the best of luck with Sam.

  18. Aw, you poor thing, Harlow! Don't worry, those 9 days will be over before you know it!

When we adopted Wrigs, we found out he was heartworm positive. We had to keep him very quiet for a looooooong time while he was undergoing the treatment. It seemed like forever, but it was worth it in the end. :-)

  19. Now I understand the photos on FB--I'm still sorry that you don't have a playmate though, and wish you could come over to our house to play!

We are sending healing energy to Harlow that the days pass quickly!!

  20. Poor Harlow, it's really a good way to spend your summer days. But please, continue laying the guilt trip on your masters.

  23. Oh my - too bad dogs can't understand when we are putting them on crate or bed rest for their own good! That's when chewies come in handy though! Hang in there - the imprisonment is almost over! ;)

  24. We got our Penelope a brand new antler to chew on and unfortunately she had to wear the cone of shame...so Harlow my dear girl, you've got that going for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

  26. I don't remember when mommy got me fixed, but she did say I tried bending the rules too. I mean really... sitting around doing NOTHING for at least a week? Come on.
