A New Star - Luke

If you have time, please stop by and give your love to Luke's Mom and brother Bleu, either on Facebook or their blog. Luke has passed away, and is romping in the fields beyond the Rainbow Bridge. He has surely become a most beloved and brightest star in the skies.

Mom is crying like Luke was one of her own, and in a way he was. All of our dog friends become special and touch our hearts. Please, in honor of Luke, give your own pup, or kitty, a hug.

Mom would also ask that if you can, make a donation in Luke's name to your closest rescue or shelter. Luke was one of the lucky ones. Let us honor Luke and help others become lucky ones too. Tucker, Leo and Daisy reminded Mom that Luke supported the Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston. A donation there would help support a rescue that was dear to Luke's heart.

  2. Hi Sam, I'm sorry about the passing of the Luke. I didn't know him well but have read a lot about him from other bloggers. He sure was a star and loved by everyone. I hope he is running free and happily over the bridge and I think our Laura and Hana will be there playing with him too.

I went to your A Sketch Every Day too, it is cool!!!

Thanks for stopping by our blog.

  4. Well said, Sam and Monty. We were hoping for a miracle for the Luke as well. A donation in his name at any rescue or shelter is a wonderful idea, but he came from and supported the Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston http://www.grrh.org/ so if people chose to donate there that would be pawsome.

  8. It is truly a somber day. We love The Luke, The Mom, and The Bleu, too. We will always hold a special place in our hearts for The Luke, he was a true BBB (Best Blogging Buddy). We posted a note on his blog and will send a card to The Mom. Luke has transformed from a Blog Star to a Star in Heaven.

  9. Sam, that is a wonderful idea. There was a star last night here shining very bright and we know it had to be the Luke. Mom has been crying too. Lots of love to you, Holly and mom

  10. Our momma sheds tears with the rest of the blogging community on the loss of such a dear, sweet soul. If there is any lesson to be learned from the Luke's life, and rescue, is that it is a GOOD THING to take a senior rescue into your home and life because the rewards and the love received is priceless.

Rest with the angels, the Luke, until we meet again...

  20. I feel so sad about Luke. Luke was very very kind to us when we thought that K had osteosarcoma - his mom reached out to us to offer comforting words. I so fervently wished that they could have had more days together.

    I love your donation idea.
