The boys had a bath on Sunday before I left. Sam, of course, has been working on some new tricks to avoid taking the dreaded bath.
His first new trick is his patented "Chameleon" maneuver. Here he is attempting to make himself blend into the couch. It almost worked - I told him next time try not to wear a leash.
Not to be discouraged, he moved right into the "Hide Behind the Pillow" maneuver.
This might have worked, except Monty decided to help give Sam a bath.
Mom is sitting her smiling at the laptop!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GReat post!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
That is too good. I love fighting the bath time resistance!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Monty was trying to tell woo something, Sam...."sniff sniff". Bet by now woo are all purdy & smell good!
ReplyDelete(we got b-a-t-h-s too)
jack & moo
You're so clever, Sam!!!
ReplyDeleteSam, great hiding positions! You do blend right in with the couch too!! Next time, try to get the leash off and maybe you will buy some extra hiding time!! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly
ReplyDeleteFun post! Great sequence of pictures! We had bath too.
ReplyDeleteThor and Jack
Good try Sam! Love the chameleon trick. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteSam, next time hide BEHIND the sofa. :-)
ReplyDeleteMolly, Taffy, Monty and Winnie
You need to hide from a bath? That is not very golden like. Are you just teasing them? Tell them to use a great big bath tub, one that has swimmers in it.
ReplyDeleteMogley G. Retriever
I couldn't even tell you were on the couch! Great hiding place!
ReplyDeleteI don't see Sam... where'd he go?
ReplyDeleteMan, I barely see Sam on the couch!
ReplyDeleteSam must have smelled pretty bad for Monty to help!
Monty's battle cry "One for all and All for one!"
ReplyDeleteMonty, not a good way to keep on your brother's good side. Of course sucking up to your Mom is always a smart move.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your own brother would turn on you like that!!!
ReplyDeletePlay bows,
Zim
Monty is a traitor!

Ah, the dreaded bathtime! Too bad Monty sold you out there, Sam.
ReplyDeleteSam, how could Monty do that to you? Did he get extra treats? Cool dude, we wished that we matched our couch!
ReplyDeletePauley James
We love the Chameleon move Sam! We're gonna have to try that. We personally like the RUN AWAY move!
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
The CheeseHounds
Oh, this post just makes us all smile. Next time ditch the leash, Sam.
ReplyDeleteWoos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
haha...totally busted you out. :)
ReplyDeleteAwww that last picture is so cute. :D
ReplyDeleteYou really were camouflaged so well, Sam! We really had to look hard to see you!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
Baths are... interesting ;-)
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! Sam - I love your "chameleon manoeuvre" - very clever!
ReplyDeleteI hate the Yucky Bath Thing too!!!!!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
oh Sam! you need to get a new friend. what a traitor! i hate baths too. what is it with humans wanting us to be clean, eh?
ReplyDeleteOh Monty! That's just not right! You need to stick to stick with canine kind!
ReplyDeleteBunny
p.s. My Typist just read all about your family and wishes she had an Aaron to help her too. My Typist is very greedy and wants too much.
ReplyDeleteBath days are traumatic, aren't they? But you always look so gorgeous afterward.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with humans and baths? Don't they know dogs are going to smell like dogs?
ReplyDeleteHang in there Sam!
Wags N Kisses,
Wrigley
Sold out by your own brother! The horror! (My brother Quinn would sell us out but he would insist on a bribe of duck jerky or buffalo heart)! The blending in trick ALMOST worked!
ReplyDeleteI don't get this bath thing. They know that the first thing we do after are fur dries is to roll on the grass so what's the point of taking a bath.
ReplyDeletesam,
ReplyDeleteewwwwww. baths are so totally not cool! does monty actually like them, or was he like, "if i have to have one, then you do, too, sam!"? me 'n asa are on the 2 week bath rotation cuz my mama is a germaphobe. guess what this saturday is for us? BOOOOOO.
*woof*
the booker man
pee s -- i was wearin' plastic nail caps in my pic. i wear those when i go to my grammy 'n grampy's house so i won't scratch their wood floors. :)
That darn Monty! If you can't trust him, who can you trust??
ReplyDeleteI've learned never to fight bath time... you'll never win anyway.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'm still laughing :-D
ReplyDeleteOh, I know you don't like baths, but you have to admit you do feel a lot better all nice and clean ... and I would think you got a few treats after bath time was all over.
ReplyDeleteYou guys look great!

hahahhahaa.. Monty is such a helpful chap!
ReplyDeleteGeorge has got a bath coming soon, too. I think he'll do a Sam, because he really hates bathtime :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so colour coordinated...Sam surely chose the best place to hide, you could barely see him on that sofa...You could sit on him if you're not careful.
Didi
Woof! Woof! Oh! Oh! It's not that bad. I LOVE it and I am a Golden. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteHeehee! Sam and Monty! There's no hiding from baths it seems!
ReplyDeleteSweet hugs,
Sierra Rose
OH Sam you really DO blend into that leather couch! Too bad you had that leash on you. I don't like taking baths too. Whenever Melissa calls my name, I reluctantly get up & walk towards her with my head & tail held low, feet dragging on the floor. BOL!
ReplyDeleteSam, you aren't being a good boy? What's up with that? Just think how cool you will feel after your bath.
ReplyDeleteYou're efforts were brilliant Sam! I particularly like the chameleon :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha Oh what a 'nice' brother you are Monty ;P
ReplyDeleteWaggin at ya,
Roo
Ha, ha...too cute! Love the last pic of Monty and Sam, that is priceless.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Too cute!
