...and of course, where there are too many of anything, they bring along all their problems. In this case, we've had a manifestation of ticks!
Aaron has been diligently fighting back against them treating the yard and house, vacuuming, spraying... Monty, unfortunately, has become a victim to the little blood thirsty pests. Every night, Aaron performs a full body inspection on Monty. Monty takes these inspections quite stoically and seem to enjoy them.
Hey! You missed a spot! |
Poor Monty... We HATE ticks around here and have had a really season this year. :(
ReplyDeleteWe have been surprised by the amount of cats we are seeing in our new neighborhood and are guessing they are pretty much feral given the state of their skinniness. We don't get them in our yard during the day - but do find their poop out in the one sandy patch in our lawn each morning which I have to clean up before the boys find it. Haven't noticed an issue with ticks yet but yes - the boys get the all over every time we have been out and they too seem to enjoy it :)
ReplyDeleteOh man ticks are no fun. But I am glad to see that Monty takes it all in stride. I guess I was fortunate that with all the years with Goose and all the hiking and back packing we did he never had even one tick. But Goose too liked the whole checking him out routine.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
I wish that ticks would stay away from us pups... We have a lot of cats here too... and while we hear their love songs every night we can only imagine what will happen in some weeks :o(

Aw! Almost like a massage if there weren't any blood suckers involved!
ReplyDeleteGah! I hate ticks! It's been a bad year for them so far and I can't blame it on cats.
ReplyDeleteMomma does inspection on us and we love it

Gosh Monty, it's not like you don't get enough attention that you need to go out and get ticks for more attention. Enjoy your extra attention.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
sully
We have seen a couple on William recently...grrrr!
ReplyDeleteTicks are awful. The cats here don't seem to get them as they don't roam, but Tommy used to, occasionally. He is now treated with Bravecto every three months and it seems to work really well.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we can see how stoic he is...BOL!
ReplyDeleteWe have a feral cat problem, too, so we UNDERSTAND. We wish peeps would get their cats desexed.
You sure don't want any of those evil creepy crawling ticks on you, Monty! YUK!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots
Mitch and Molly
Oh Monty, you are such a patient and good boy!!

There are few things I hate worse than irresponsible pet owners. I think Monty is like most Goldens. If you are touching them it's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteOh Monty! Stay away from those nasty ticks! Do enjoy the tummy rubs as you get inspected for ticks. Hugs to Harlow!

Oh, we are SO strongly against ticks! That massage by your dad looks mighty nice, though, Monty!!!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
Yikes! The WDA HATES to nasty little critters. We too are having a bumper crop year and also have issues with "outdoor" neighborhood cats and ferals coming into the yard. Fortunately we found a great dog friendly non-toxi biological spray for control...cedarcide PCO Choice...even safe for pollinators. Good luck Monty.

ReplyDeleteI had a tick on me once. It was gross! We've been lucky so far. No fleas or ticks this summer yet.
