One of our biggest issues with Monty is trying to wear off all of his energy. As far as we can tell, this isn't possible! If we don't try to at least make a little dent in it each day, he is constantly in trouble. This morning for example, we started off with a brisk 2.5 mile walk. Now, let me present you with Exhibit A and Exhibit B.
Exhibt A - Monty
Exhibit B - Sam (Shhhh....)
Anybody have any suggestions on how to wear this boy out?
Too cute! I don't know what I would do....
ReplyDeleteHave you tried ball? Fetch can wear a doggy down.
ReplyDeleteTucker and Daisy
Very large hamster wheel.
ReplyDelete~Cousin Frisk
Swimming always wears us out!

Zack, Sassy and Buddy
Fetching ball or kong is always fun, that is if Monty likes to fetch.
ReplyDeleteWoof,
Sam & June
Ha roo roo roo. Adopt a Siberian?
ReplyDeletePlay bows,
Zim
PS: Dave likes those suggestions about Fetch after the walks!
Playing ball and playing frisbee does it!!! Tuckers us right out!!! Hugs Joey and Kealani
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwww Sam...

Maya & the boys
Cute pictures! The only thing that wears Holly out is a long drive and walks. That works for awhile on her but does me in for a few days! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
ReplyDeleteI have a toy that Mom hides my food in and that can tucker me out, both physically and mentally, in no time!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words for Lulubelle — I'll be sure her Mom reads them!
Your pal,
Petey
Sometimes you not only have to wear them out physically, you have to also exercise them mentally...are you doing any mental exercises?
ReplyDeleteHey there!!! Wootwoot Monty! I have lots of energy too! Best for me is retrieving the kong (on a super long line if I am not in an enclosed area), and obedience class!!! Mom signs up for Humane Society classes sometimes, and some Monday afternoons we do a 1-on-1 30mn private with a professional trainer... I have to use my brain, and that wears me out! Swimming too!
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted!!
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose
Bring 'em both over here!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Sagira - mental tiredness is important. Often we give ours Kongs with peanut butter just to keep them busy - and man, they are all tired afterward! Guess it is like us humans - give us a job, and we get tired!
How about a triathlon?
ReplyDeleteHugz&Khysses,
Khyra
PeeEssWoo: Sam looks SO out of it!
Mom says you might have to wait for his fourth or fifth birthday - sorry, we aren't sure how old Monty is, but we know GRs have lots of energy when they are younger. Walking is great exercise and ball fetching too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
I'll get Mitch packed up and shipped off to you ASAP, Sam!
ReplyDeleteBe on the lookout for him, okay?!
Love ya lots,
Maggie
hello sam its dennis the vizsla dog hay i sugjest flyball!!! it wurks for me!!! ok bye
ReplyDeleteOh Monty you're gonna have to go easy on your big brother. He's used to being the only doggy, sleeping when he wants. I'm sure you'll soon find the joy of sleeping when you're not really tired ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny :) I remember the days when we had to work so hard to wear out Farley. It can be a lot of work...
ReplyDeleteLong, long hikes every day and kong, bumper or ball tossing over and over again... I'm exhausted just thinking about it heheh!
ReplyDeleteHi Sam!
Hugs xxoxoox
Sammie
Walks and fetch!
ReplyDeleteMercy! 2.5 miles and still wired. My girls are 7 this year and I can sure tell they have slowed plus the heat of summer is here and that kicks their butts too.
ReplyDeleteI like the hamster wheel suggestion LOL Do you have a treadmill? You could try that. I don't have any good suggestions because two certain someones here are COUCH POTATOES. Their preferred daytime activities are a series of naps, broken up by meals and potty breaks ;-)
ReplyDeletehmm - I am late but...the evil Lance - who will be 7 in Sept. has to wear a backpack on hikes and walks. He has more energy than the rest of us 5, 4 and 3 year olds...just a thought. REI has a cool doggie pack.
