Sam is doing much better tonight, to our relief. He is eating with his usual apetite, wants to play, and overall is feeling like his old self. He still seems plagued by the runs, but even that is looking better (I won't go into details!). We are still concerned about why he was sick, though. One minute he was prancing around being silly, and then all of the sudden he laid down and was ill. We might be over reacting, but he is our boy and we love him.
Sam definitely needs a good thorough brushing!
We want to thank everyone for their well wishes! It really helped us to read everyone's pawsitive thoughts and kind words. ...and most importantly of all,
Sam thanks you!
Khousin Merdie kept asking me to pull up your blog on my Googlie Readerie Thingie -

When Dom had some runny poos after boarding, i boiled some rice.. with lots of water for him. I just made him drink the water from the boiled rice. It helps.
ReplyDeleteIt works for humans too. Cos when you are too sick to eat, some water from the boiled rice helps to line the stomach.
Am glad Sam is all well now. Big hugs to Sammy boy.
Could he have eaten a frog? I once had a dog who did that and it was a mess!
ReplyDeleteGlad Sam's feeling better!
ReplyDeleteSam, are you having tummy aches? Is that why you feel down sometimes? Whatever it is, I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteAwww Sam :) So happy you're feelin mostly like you old self again! Yay!
ReplyDeleteWaggin at ya,

ReplyDeleteI missed that Sam wasn't feeling well, and am glad that he is!! I know how it is to worry and what a relief it is when things start to get better. We're sending healthy thoughts and energy from our corner in Virginia so that continues! TAKE CARE!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Sam is feeling better. I have lots of stomach issues, too. My vet thinks it is stress related, but I also have to stay on a bland diet.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
So glad to hear you are on the mend, Mr. Sam.

That is great news to hear!! Keep on getting better Sam!! Get well prayers still coming your way until you are 100% better!! Lots of love, Holly & Mom
ReplyDeleteGlad Sam is better. This type of thing happens every so often with our Lucy. I'm convinced that she manages to pick up something like an acorn or rabbit poop that causes it. She'll have diarrhea for a day or so and then will be fine. Our vet recommended a 24-hour fast (allowing only rice water) when it happens. It's rather strange because I take her for a walk alone while my husband feeds Ellie. Lucy is totally confused as to why she can smell dog food on Ellie's breath.
ReplyDeleteSam, we are so happy to hear you are doing better. Mom says she so understands the desire to know "why", that plagues her about Phantom. Stay well, pal.

Have a wonderful extended holiday weekend! Hoping for good weather and relaxing times for everyone there...and excellent, "let's go for a walk" health, too.

So glad he is feeling better! Last week, my one Sibe, Gibson, suddenly got sick too, vomiting, wouldn't eat...took a few days and he is back to himself. I never figured out why either, but I think the sudden change in weather doesn't help - it jumped from the high 60s to almost 90 in one day. Needless to say, he's been basking in the kitchen in the A/C for days now! May Sam continue to feel good!
ReplyDeletePS - Also, JackDaddy could be right - we suspected that one of ours ate a frog last year - nasty sick, but did get better on a boiled chicken & rice diet after a few days. So many icky things out there when the weather gets warmer. Be well! Husky hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting our blog Sam. We appreciated the hugs. It was a long day yesterday, but we are getting better.

I'm glad you feel better Sam!!!
ReplyDeleteWell... I'm embarassed to be so late in wishing the Sam to feel better, but I'm oh so happy to know that he is!!!
ReplyDeletewith love from the Bleu
I am sorry you were not feeling well Sam, but very glad you are feeling better. My Mom says it is that time of year -- we eat stuff we shouldn't and the temperature keeps changing.
ReplyDeleteOh Sam - we are glad you are feeling better, and hope the rest gets back to normal again soon. It's no fun being sick, and it worries the humans so much. Take care buddy :)
