That was a bad idea...

Have you ever bought your pups a toy, and realized only later that it was a bad idea?

Wal-Mart had a sale on giant tennis balls, and being a thoughtful doggy Mom, I bought both Sam and Monty each one.

Sam was happy with his, but after rolling it around for a few minutes, decided he liked tennis balls that he could carry a bit more...

Thanks, Mom, it's very nice.


Monty was overjoyed. He took one look at his ball and promptly challenged it to a fight to the death!


Thank goodness we don't have anything fragile! For a few minutes it sounded like a wild bull was loose in our house!

Monty eventually fought it to a standstill.

It's getting tired, Dad!

...and finally Monty managed to pop it! Elapsed time: 8 minutes and 34 seconds...

Here he is resting after his heroic battle!


After a quick nap he sprang into action!

Monty, is that Sam's ball you've got there?

Ummmm, no?


It didn't take as long to pop Sam's, but Monty is now the proud owner of two deflated tennis balls!

    No wonder Walmart was having a giant tennis ball sale! I wonder how many other dogs destroyed the balls in 8 minutes? Well, at least you know that your dogs gave their paw of approval for being so thoughtful!

    Oh, that is too funny. Yes, so many bad toy choices for my Goldens. Not enough space to describe. It is the joy of having these furkids who possess boundless joy for just about everything. Easton has decided he wants to "get' our giant swiss exercise balls! It is comical watching him nudge, bite and chase it around the house. Video soon of that display.....

    I've seen those big tennis balls and had to stop myself from getting some for the rowdy girls. Jolly balls are the best big balls I know of. They can bite them all day and they won't pop.

    Not a bad toy if the pups enjoyed it:) We sometimes like our broken or torn toys better than the new ones. Monty must have some very strong jaws.

    When I first found Minnie, I bought her one of those at Wal-Mart. She had the same reaction as Sam. It sat in the yard until I finally threw it out.

    Heck Monty, I don't get any balls or toys at all. I too take it as a personal challenge to DESTROY....ATTACK....nothing is too tough for me.

    Somehow that has turned out to be NOT so good for me.

    For some reason, my mom isn't as thrilled with my Squeaky Fish as I am. And I still don't know why it's an "outside only" toy. I just can't figure that out!

    That's EXACTLY what Riley would do with a giant tennis ball! Thanks for saving me a few dollars...I won't be buying her one! :)

    I have a whole crate of toys mom thinks may have been a bad idea.
