Happy 8th Birthday, Sam! (...and a very late thank you!)

Our very special boy had a birthday on Thursday. Due to my work schedule, we decided to wait until this weekend to celebrate it.

It's my birthday!


If you remember, last year Sam was too sick to celebrate properly, so this year we wanted to give him a proper celebration - including a home cooked doggie birthday cake! Our good friend, Homer, supplied us the recipe last year. It smelled good enough for us humans to eat!

Mental note from the mom, use a smaller pan next time...

We sliced the cake, and each boy got a piece. Sam, in usual Sammy form, ate his too quick for me to get a picture.


Monty, however, was a perfect gentleman!


A while back, Sugar had a Trick n Treat contest and Sammy won the "What Do You Think Tester?" category. Sugar sent Sam his prize, and we've been holding it for a special occasion.


Thank you, Sugar! Both of the boys love the treats! I did have to rescue the card - Sam had every intention of ripping through whatever was between him and the treats!
